This evening we went out to walk along the Nevsky prospect, in total stretching 4.5 miles long. It is decorated with modern shops and restaurants as well as churches, cathedrals and the famous Winter Palace. Its now westernised streets were once used by the Russian workers and soldiers to march up to the Winter Palace to protest for reforms from The Tsar; an iconic and vital place for shaping the 1905 and 1917 revolutions.
