Year 8 Historians at Wordfest!

Dr Sean Lang

Many thanks to Dr Sean Lang who visited the school on Thursday and gave two great talks to our Sixth Form Historians!

He addressed "why parliamentary reform mattered?" in relation to C19th radicalism and reform, before going on to talk about "were the British an imperial people?".

Both talks offered a fascinating insight into crucial and controversial topics!

Palaces and Snowball fights!

Our last visit of our trip was a walk around St Catherine's park to see the summer residence of the early Romanovs. After observing the palace, we got carried away in the snow and had a massive snow ball fight where both Mr Dickens and Miss Mcdougall ended up face first in the snow after a fight with Billy - it was hilarious!
