After this we visited a mass grave which has over 500,000 people buried there who died in the 900 day siege of Petrograd in World War Two. The immense size of the memorial highlighted the massive loss St Petersburg experienced; an unimaginable sacrifice.

Our last full day in Russia today :(
First today we went to see The train that Lenin arrived back to Petrograd in to start the October revolution, at Finland Station. This is where Lenin made his speech outlining the April Thesis indicating that revolution was imminent.

Yusupov Palace
Lastly today,we had a look around the Yusupov Palace. The Yusupov family who once occupied the palace were the second richest family in Russia; the richest were the Romonovs. This is also the palace in which Rasputin's murder took place.
Political History
We also viewed exhibits from the Bolshevik revolution and Soviet period in the political history museum including some interesting propaganda images from the Civil War.
Aurora
Today we climbed on board the Aurora, the ship that fired a blank shot to mark the start of the Bolshevik revolution in October 1917.
Dance Time
Our evening continued back at the hotel, where we all hit the dance floor to showcase our impressive moves to the Russians, accompanied by a live saxophonist we also showed off our singing skills! The hotel seemed to enjoy our entertainment.
