Congratulations to all the EPQ students who completed their presentations on Friday!
This year there were a number of historical investigations including;
The causes of Anti-Catholicism in Tudor England
The role of Nationalism in the collapse of the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian Empires
The causes of the relative success and failure of the different Crusades
The relevance of Marxism in the modern world
The extent to which the USA achieved her military objectives in South East Asia during the Cold War
The causes of the failure of the 1984 Miner's Strike
Students have to research their chosen topic, produce a 5000 word mini-dissertation and present their findings to a live audience!
Everyone involved should be proud of their efforts!

Another great speaker organised by Mr Etheridge.
Interesting Q&A... One issue that was touched upon: Are politicians today less honourable than their historical predecessors? Or has politics always had a shady side? What do you think?

There is also an article by Laurence Rees the programme's author on the BBC website. This can be read at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20237437
